Democrats Win

What I find is that basically everyone who's posted in here has been wrong.

Instead of "America is this & that" or "Isreal & the Middle East suck ass", shouldn't it be:

"The stupid extremist bastards in ALL countries, and the dickheads who support them should choke on a dick and die"?

The thing I can't get is why a few individuals can't get over a couple of bad decisions that were made way before my time way before I even had a voice of opinion. To me this thing about putting Israel right in the middle of a bunch of people who don't like them probably wasn't a good idea. But guess what....there's not a damn thing I can do about it. I wasn't even around when that happened. The US as a nation has overcome many differences with many countries...hell, some major ones in the past century. Just look at the nations that we have fought against in WWI and WWII. Back then the Germans were some bad people. Today you wouldn't even think to consider a German an enemy of anyone in the US. Same stance with Russia, Japan, and probably many more that I know of. But we know how to move on. We know that some things change and some things don't. If you're saying that we should take Israel out of the Middle East that is like asking us to change the fact that we went to the moon. Tough shit, we went to the moon and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

If you really want to know why we would help Israel here are a few things to think about....

Israel is a nuclear power. They have the technology and the capacity to make nuclear weapons. Heaven forbid some terrorist organization takes over Israel and assumes control over the technology and capacity to build such weapons. Now we all know that wouldn't happen right? Isreal would be launching those missiles left and fucking right if they thought they had to go it alone or have someone like the US whispering in their ear telling them to "Take the Diplomatic Route."

Where others see the US putting our noses in a place where it doesn't belong there are others that are thankful that someone is there to lend a hand.

But I agree with Slorg. How do we go about dealing with the extremists? Even if we backed out now the "extremists" will think that they have won and would "vow to continue to fight against the infidels!" If you think for a minute that backing down from a fight that you have invested in is a good idea you need to go back and rethink the situation. Be sure to put yourself in the shoes of the enemy. Obviously we need to start fighting fire with fire. Enough of the Geneva Conventions...I doubt that the terrorists signed the damn thing but I'm pretty sure they know every single word in the document.

I could go on but there are other matters pressing my mind at the moment.

the only thing i regret is we had a republican president that spent like democrates and soon the spending will increase unless they get someone who tries to kiss republican ass and do the oposite also..

Ya know, this is one of those things that gets me. Democrats seem to have this incredible hate for Bush, yet he wasn't a very conservative Republican. He spent like a drunken sailor and was quite moderate on most issues.

thats when the real shit hits the fan..2008..

2008 alot of shit is coming to a head the boomers are in retirement with no generation to pay into the boomers SS it's just more getting sucked out.. and dems will probably get a president and have the house and the senate...

i made a post about this stuff like 2 years ago on this forum..
let me see if i can dig it up anywhere...
it has all the resorces with the estimated actually debt that has to be paid sitting at i believe around 40 trillion in the lowest guess and not the 7 or 12 or whatever number we hear it is today..also it has about the government not having to add all the loans we have into the figures for 10 years after the loans were taken out..
we can save spend burn or wipe our asses with it..it's all just gonna be as worthless as a blade a grass soon enough..

(hi)

Agreed. However the many years prior to that were Dems. Also, the Dems signed the Civil rights legislation out of fear, not for what was right. They wanted to avoid an all out race war. Even today, the voting act is still just that, an act that has to be voted upon to keep it active. They still didnt/dont want to go so far as to make it law.

I heat what you are saying Char and agree with you.

Maybe some of them, but I think the key players really believed in it because it was the right thing to do. JFK and LBJ were both Civil Rights supporters early on before all the urban violence started sprouting around the country.
And looking at the vast number of white volunteers who were willing to go on the freedom rides and sit-ins knowing their lives were in danger, it couldn't have been just out of fear (for them). Granted, those volunteers weren't in any position of political power, but they joined in because they believed it was right.

It's rare to see a politician of any party risk their job for anything, especially something like that. No way were the demorats all for that glorious cause because they suddenly saw the light. Politicians react to problems only when it becomes clear they'll win votes for it. It took too long for those in power to admit what they were doing was wrong, but leaders stepped up to make the changes needed.

If MLK and JFK hadn't been killed like that, I wonder how different the world would be. I don't think JFK was anywhere near the caliber of man MLK was, but he was still someone to respect. Dr. King though....that man was only getting started. Who knows what he could have accomplished if he were to live a full life. I'm not talking about just with Civil Rights....that guy could have spread God's message of peace and love to generations of people....and really reach them with it. It's amazing how resolute he was with his campaign of non-violence, even when SNCC and CORE and the Panthers started to preach the opposite....the guy never wavered.

Sorry, it's late, and I'm rambling. You may be right about the democrats, but I hold firm to my belief that the ones who instigated the change did so because they believed it was right. The rest just went with how their constituents wanted them to.
